πŸ“» Ship Log

What this is. Ship Log is a short daily tech-news audio brief that is assembled by software and narrated by synthetic voices. "Quinn" and "Vera" are personas, not people. The pipeline reads a fixed list of named publications, extracts claims that are each tied to a quoted sentence from a source, writes a script from those claims only, checks every sentence with a second, independent AI model, and drops anything it cannot verify. A named human β€” Alex Glaros / Engagement Squared β€” is accountable for what airs.

Listening metrics

To improve the show, the player page and audio feed record pseudonymous usage: a random player identifier, a salted one-way hash of network address, playback position and listening duration. No names, no accounts, no third-party trackers, no advertising use; the data stays on our own server.

Sourcing standard

Corrections policy

Errors are classified and handled like this:

  1. Our error β€” the pipeline mis-stated what a source said. β†’ A spoken correction in the next episode, and a correction note added to the original episode's show notes.
  2. Source error β€” the source itself was wrong and we relayed it accurately. β†’ A note added to the original episode's show notes, citing the source; spoken in the next episode if material.
  3. Trivial β€” a mispronunciation, a typo in the notes. β†’ Show-notes fix only.

Corrections are always audible, never silent: an episode's audio is not quietly re-cut. The correction goes in the next episode, and the record of it stays.

Report an error: corrections@engagementsquared.com β€” a monitored door, read by a named human. Tell us the episode date and the sentence.

Right of reply

Every person or organisation named in a story has a standing right to reply, verbatim. Each story in the show notes carries a "Reply on the record" link; a published reply is read on air in a deliberately flat, identical voice for every party β€” the voice is ours, the words are theirs, and we say "quote" and "end quote" around them. We do not edit replies; we may decline one that is abusive, off-topic or not from the party named, and the decision is logged. (That flat read is itself an editorial choice, stated here so it is not hidden.)
