Engagement Squared was built by Alex Glaros — a filmmaker and community-builder. His film The Ikarian Fig Tree grew out of the Ikarian community he belongs to: a culture famous for long tables, long lives, and nobody left out.
He has spent his life on that kind of togetherness — community gatherings, films about ordinary people finding each other, the stubborn belief that neighbors are the answer to most of what ails us.
This platform is that belief, rebuilt as a tool: real people near you, saying yes to something real — no feed, no algorithm, no ads. When you connect here, it's because a human chose to, not because an engagement metric did.
Alex builds business software too (that story is here — it pays the bills). But this side is the point: healing society, one real connection at a time.
