A site that is early can hide it behind a dead link, or say so. We say so, and we tell you what is actually going on.
Conversation that is CONNECTION-SCOPED: you speak with people you are actually connected to, and whoever opens a thread is disclosed — nobody knocks wearing a mask. There is deliberately no inbox for strangers to shout into, and there never will be.
Connection-scoped messaging is a doctrine before it is a feature, and getting the boundary wrong once would teach people this is just another inbox. The duel of ideas is the first working piece of it; group threads follow it.
This one needs an account — we have nowhere to put a request from someone we do not know, and we are not going to start collecting email addresses from strangers to fix that.
